Stoneworld was born in Sydney in 1986 with a simple but ambitious purpose: to bring the world's finest stone surfaces — marble, granite, limestone, and porcelain — to the Australian building industry. Back then, we were an importer and wholesaler with a single office and a whole lot of drive. Today, we're one of the largest national tile wholesale suppliers in the country, servicing over 1,000 customers across every state and territory.
What hasn't changed is what we care about: great products, genuine relationships, and doing right by the people who trust us with their builds and renovations.

From a single Sydney warehouse to a network spanning the nation — our growth has always been driven by one thing: serving you better.
Growth for us has always been intentional. Starting in NSW in 1986, we expanded into Queensland in 1996, with Victoria followed in 2003, opening the door to South Australia and Tasmania. And in 2011, we completed our national footprint with the launch of our Western Australian operations.
Today, Stoneworld has offices and warehouse operations in four states — NSW, QLD, VIC, and WA. This national network is genuinely unique within the Australian tile industry, and it means our customers benefit from consistent stock availability, streamlined accounts, and a single trusted supplier no matter where in Australia they operate.
Our History
1986
Where It All Began
Stoneworld was established in Sydney as an importer and wholesaler of marble, granite, limestone, and porcelain tiles. From the beginning, the focus was simple: source quality products and build lasting relationships with the Australian building industry.
1996
Growing Beyond Borders
Within a decade, the business had grown into Queensland and further strengthened its NSW presence through the acquisition of Method Tiles. The move consolidated Stoneworld's expertise in importation and distribution, and laid the groundwork for what was to come.
2003
Victoria Opens Its Doors
Victorian operations commenced in 2003, bringing Stoneworld's offering to customers across Victoria, South Australia, and Tasmania. Northern Territory customers continued to be serviced from Sydney. The national network was quietly taking shape.
2011
A National Network Established
The opening of Western Australian operations in 2011 marked the fulfilment of a long-held goal — a presence in every major market across the country. Four states. One connected business.
